2011 Play Readings Make the Front Page

(Daily Clarion/Jeff Stanton) Fred Hadley (right) is completely shocked by a statement made by a character, who is also his real life wife, Krista, during the Gibson County Theatre Co. reading of a scene from the comedy, “Romantic Fools.” The company introduced the reading for the first time, unrehearsed, cold reads with very little staging to a group of patrons at the Farmer’s Daughter Baker and Cafe on Monday night. The company plans to offer readings on the third Monday of each month with free admission as a way of offering the public a chance to see work the company may consider doing as a full stage performance at a later time. Fred Hadley says it provides a way for them to gauge different kinds of material. Monday night’s readings were considered adult-oriented for those 18 and older.
